Moisture Exudation Indicator

The Moisture Exudation Indicator unit is required for the R-Value method of determining the pressure at which water is exuded from compacted soil specimens. The unit includes two pressure plate versions.

The standard indicator requires the operator to continuously check around the bottom circumference of the mold for free water exuding from under the mold to the outside. The more recent version features a bronze ring around the outside edge of the mold. An indicator light is turned on when the presence of free water is detected.

This unit is very useful in automating the test or when the testing machine design inhibits visual observation of the back side of the mold.
